A goldsmith working close to the earth

Rani Morris is a goldsmith and jewelry designer based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Her work is inspired by the textures of the natural world — lichen, petals, scales, stone, wings — translated into wearable, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Rani designs, fabricates and finishes every piece at her bench, incorporating natural and reclaimed materials. She works in small batches and one-offs by choice: it’s slower, but every piece is unique.

Rani is a member of Malleable Studios, a Charlottesville artist collective made up mostly of metalsmiths, where alongside her own studio practice, she teaches workshops and private classes in a variety of jewelry and goldsmith techniques.
